Watkins Glen is a model of what New York State Parks has to offer and it lives up to its reputation leaving visitors spellbound.
Family adventures always include at least one special thing that we want to experience or enjoy, but Grandfather Mountain surprised us with four—otters, bears, a skybridge, and the highest peak in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Needless to say, everyone in the family was satisfied.
New York State Parks keep amazing us with their abundant waterfalls, mountains, hiking, and gorgeous scenic views! On our quest to explore more of the state’s natural wonders, we planned a visit to Minnewaska State Park Preserve in the Hudson Valley– New York’s largest state preserve at 22,000 acres! Our spring visit was full of rushing waters, icy rocks, snowy foot paths, and a frozen lake. Our summer visit was a motivating exploration of the trails that led us to the highest scenic overlooks.
This oceanfront playground promotes the preservation and protection of marine life through programs in their oceanarium with bottlenose dolphins. Our family had the privilege of spending an afternoon here and we made an “ocean of memories.”
