D1701654-E131-4C0A-8374-94372063CA6DWe could not pass up an opportunity like this! This team game to diffuse a bomb hit our competitive, game loving family as a challenge. As a bonus, we are always looking for excuses to enjoy Brooklyn.

New and interesting indoor activities can be difficult to find so we were excited for this experience. We tend to be a bit on the quirky and adventurous side so wearing a hazmat suit with a fanny pack while playing live arcade games was a huge draw. Say what you will, but we laughed so hard we split the seams on our suits!

Beat the Bomb Hazmat Suit and Fanny Pack

Beat the Bomb made sure to make us work. There was running, crawling, and twisting around lasers. We had to use our dexterity, strength, coordination, and mutual teamwork abilities. There was sweat involved! We went through five rooms in under one hour to diffuse a paint bomb before it exploded. If that wasn’t enough motivation; they have a Leader Board of the Top 10 teams! You know we were determined to get on that board!

Family Adventure Rating ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Cost– This is not a low cost adventure by our standards. A family or group of five will cost a minimum of $200 plus taxes, fees and travel for this one hour adventure. In comparison to our other adventures this is a steep price to pay for the short amount of time. However, this is a novelty and a treat. You can balance out the cost of this adventure by enjoying some of Brooklyn’s free amenities and making a day of it.

Parking & Transportation– It is never really worth driving into the city due to traffic and limited parking, especially Brooklyn. Here are great instructions from their website: “BEAT THE BOMB is located at 247 Water Street, suite #106 (first floor past elevators back right) in DUMBO, Brooklyn, NY, 11201. It is just a few blocks from the York Street (F) Subway Stop in DUMBO, and a little longer of a walk but still close to the A/C at High Street and the 2/3 at Clark Street. We are planning additional locations across the US in 2019.”

Location– Brooklyn is not the easiest area to get into unless you are in a neighboring area. It is an amazing part of New York City full of numerous historical, cultural, and entertainment opportunities. Beat the Bomb is located in the DUMBO section which is one of the best parts to visit for a day and explore.

Day Trip or Overnight– The city is always a terrific place to spend a few days exploring, but there’s no need to stay overnight if you live within commuting distance.

Experience– Beat the Bomb is all about fun and teamwork. This is a great way for a family or group of friends to band together and work towards achieving a common goal. Add this to exploration of the area and you have a great day planned that everyone will remember.

Combination– The DUMBO section of Brooklyn is one of the best neighborhoods to explore in New York City. Consider a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge , relaxing in Brooklyn Bridge Park and taking a ride on Jane’s Carousel. If you check out the park in advance you might find a fun festival or event coinciding with your visit.
